A Few Thoughts on Avengers: Infinity War

I'm going to go about this a tad different than my other posts about movies. I'm gonna keep this short because it's really hard to talk about this movie without going into spoilers and I don't want to do that! If you have been on this 10 year journey like I have then you deserve to go into this movie and enjoy it as much as I did spoiler free. So here are my thoughts on Infinity War!

This movie absolutely lives up to the hype and expectation! 10 years is a long time to build something up but Marvel has done that here! A thing to know about this movie is that it's only part one. Part two will come out in a year. It's 2 and a half hours but it really flew by because the pacing of this movie is nuts! It might the fastest paced Marvel movie to date! There's literally action happening almost every 5-10 mins! The plot of the movie is pretty simple: Thanos is after all 6 Infinity Stones and that's it! This isn't the movie that introduces new deep plot threads, this is the culmination of all the plot threads setup in the previous movies.

Honestly, this movie is all about Thanos! We were promised that he would be the most menacing villain in the MCU and my God is he ever! I'm so happy that they delivered on him and I get why they kept him off screen for most of the other movies leading up. The stuff he can do when he gets some of the stones is so awesome! And we get a good bit of backstory and learn who he is and why he is trying to do the things he wants to do. It's actually a pretty convincing reason why!

The most impressive thing about this movie to me is making the meet up of all these characters feel natural and not just throwing them together! When the Guardians first appear it feels like one of their movies and when they are on screen it has that James Gunn humor and it's so well done! I don't want to get into specifics about characters but I wanted to say that some my favorite characters in the movie are Thor, Scarlett Witch, and Drax. Thanos is my favorite though! Josh Brolin does such a great job and some of the best effects I've seen! No Steppenwolf stuff going on here!

The movies I would say you need to make sure you're caught up on before seeing Infinity War are: Both Captian America movies, both Avengers movies, Civil War, both Guardians of the Galaxy movies, Doctor Strange, Thor Ragnarok, and Black Panther.

The action in this movie is amazing, the acting is top notch, and a lot of stuff happens! There's some pretty controversial things that happen and some pretty heartbreaking things that happen. I loved them all and seeing everything come full circle was amazing to see! I think this movie is amazing and will def be one of my favorite movies of the year!
